Salisbury, N.C.—Delhaize America has announced Joyce Wilson-Sanford will spearhead organizational development efforts for its three banners, Food Lion, Hannaford and Kash n’ Karry, as Vice President of Strategic Organizational Development.
“I am increasingly aware of the need for organizational development skills, values and points of view. Delhaize America needs an environment that leverages learning across companies for optimal business results,” said Bill McCanless, CEO of Delhaize America.
Wilson-Sanford will work with the executive teams of all three companies to develop approaches that will accelerate the execution of strategy among the three banners, leveraging the best practices of each. She will also help the companies capitalize on unique strengths and development of internal talent.
Wilson-Sanford joined Hannaford Bros. in 1989 as director of organizational development and training and was promoted to vice president in 1996. She has worked with the Delhaize American Executive Committee in this capacity for the last two years.
Wilson-Sanford is a founding member of The International Gestalt Study Center, which focuses on organizational development in large systems at an international level. Her undergraduate degree is from Depauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, and her master’s degree is in business and organizational development from the university of Illinois.
Wilson-Sanford has served as a board member of Community Counseling Center and Maine Children's Trust Fund. She was also recognized as an outstanding woman in Portland's YWCA Tenth Annual Tribute to Women in Industry.
